Spanish publication Sport has reveal that Barcelona defender Gerard Pique has no plans to retire at the end of the season.
The 34-year-old centre-back has once again been a key player in the team this season. After last season’s injury, he played almost the whole season until he played only 23 games, including all items.
Pique has made 19 appearances so far this season, scoring two goals. And he is previously report to have decide to retire at the end of the season. Despite having a contract with the ufabet club until 2024.
However, according to Spanish media reports, Pique’s representatives say the player has no plans to retire after the 2021/22 season.
Pique has missed just two La Liga games this season due to injury. He will face a ban against Elche on Saturday. After collecting five yellow cards in last week’s 2-2 draw with Osasuna.
According to Sport, the defender’s representatives have insisted that he has no plans to hang up his boots at the end of the 2021-22 campaign.
Pique has featured in all but two of Barcelona’s La Liga matches this season, missing out against Getafe in August and Celta Vigo in November due to injury.
However, the experienced defender will be absent for Saturday’s clash. With Elche due to the booking that he picked up in the 2-2 draw with Osasuna last weekend.
